Accreditation
Accreditation is not just an institutional credential. It directly affects your education and your future. When CCC is accredited, it means:
• Your credits are recognized and accepted when you transfer to a four-year university
• You are eligible for federal financial aid, including Pell Grants and student loans
• Your degree and certificates are recognized by employers and graduate programs
• The education you receive meets nationally established standards for quality
CCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, the same regional accreditor that recognizes Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, and the University of Arizona. Regional accreditation, as opposed to national or programmatic accreditation, is the highest and most widely recognized standard in American higher education.
CCC also participates in AZ-SARA, a voluntary agreement among member states that establishes comparable national standards for online and distance education courses offered across state lines. AZ-SARA participation makes it easier for students in other states to take CCC’s online courses.
Higher Learning Commission
Coconino Community College (CCC) is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and a member of the North Central Association (NCA). CCC evaluates all aspects of itself regularly and is scheduled for reaffirmation of accreditation in 2031-2032.

Coconino Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and participates in the HLC’s Open Pathway. HLC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit degree-granting colleges and universities.
CCC’s accreditation reflects the quality of its academic programs, the strength of its governance and administration, its adherence to mission, and the sustainability of its resources and finances.

Program Review
In addition to institutional accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission, specific CCC programs hold authorization or accreditation from professional and regulatory bodies in their fields. These recognitions confirm that individual programs meet the standards required for professional practice, licensure, and employment in their respective industries.

Assessment of Student Learning
CCC regularly evaluates whether students are learning what they came here to learn. Faculty review student outcomes across courses and programs, identify where improvements are needed, and make changes to curriculum and instruction based on what the data shows. This process is ongoing, faculty-led, and focused on one goal: making sure a CCC credential reflects real learning.
