Veteran or Military Student
Serving Those Who Served
CCC is proud to welcome active duty service members, veterans, reservists, and military families into the Comet community. Whether you are transitioning out of service, continuing your education, or exploring a new career direction, you will find advisors who understand the military experience and know how to help you make the most of the benefits you have earned.
How to Become a CCC Student
- Apply for your veteran educational benefits.
Before you apply to CCC, start the process of accessing the benefits you have earned. If you are unsure which benefits apply to you, our Veterans Services team can help you figure that out before you take your next step. - Submit your CCC application.
Applying is free, simple, and quick. Once you submit, watch for a confirmation email from Admissions and Enrollment Services with your next steps. - Set up your student account.
You will receive instructions by email on how to activate your CCC student account. Once it is active, all future communication from CCC will go to your student email, so check it regularly. Admissions staff may reach out requesting additional documents to complete your enrollment, so keep an eye out and respond promptly. - Apply for financial aid.
Do not skip this step. In addition to your veteran educational benefits, there may be additional options available to help cover the cost of your education, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), scholarships, and the Comet Promise. - Meet with your advisor.
Your advisor will help you figure out course placement, choose your first classes, and build a plan for your first semester. One important note: most veteran educational benefits require enrollment in a degree-eligible program, so your advisor will make sure your plan meets that requirement. - Register for classes.
Once you have your plan, register through your student portal. - Pay your tuition and fees.
Make sure payment is submitted before the deadline to secure your spot in class. If your benefits are still processing, contact Student Accounts about deferment options. - Get ready for day one.
Welcome to the Comet community! We’re glad you’re here.

Admissions FAQS
- Do I need to apply to CCC differently than other students?
Yes. Before you apply to CCC, you need to apply to your veteran educational benefits. After that, the CCC application process is the same for everyone. Once you are admitted, our Veterans Services team will help you connect your education benefits, navigate military-specific requirements, and make sure your plan is set up correctly from the start.
- Can I use my veteran education benefits and financial aid at the same time?
In many cases, yes. Veteran education benefits and federal financial aid such as FAFSA are separate programs with different eligibility requirements. Applying for both gives you the best picture of what resources are available to you.
- Is CCC an affordable option for veteran students?
Yes. CCC already offers low tuition, and when combined with veteran education benefits, the cost of your education can be significantly reduced or eliminated entirely depending on your eligibility.
- Can military spouses and dependents access education benefits at CCC?
Certain federal programs extend education benefits to military spouses and dependents. Our Veterans Services team can point you toward the right resources and help you determine what you may be eligible for.
