Policy

The District Governing Board (the Board) follows a leadership philosophy that Board members will:

  1. Act as a singular unit and speak with one voice.
  2. Represent the shared interests of the citizens of Coconino County and serve the public good.
  3. Create a positive climate for the college as a whole.
  4. Foster a culture of evidence that monitors the performance of the College.
  5. Lead as a thoughtful, informed, educated team.

The Board mission is to govern the College on behalf of Coconino County citizens by:

  1. Employing, evaluating, and supporting the College President.
  2. Ensuring the fiscal health and stability of the institution.
  3. Setting and monitoring the policy direction including:
    1. Setting the visionary policy direction for the College.
    2. Establishing policies that set standards for high quality, ethics, and prudence in College operations.
    3. Establishing policies to support the mission of the College that focus on student access, equity, success and completion
    4. Establishing policies to attract and retain high quality personnel.
    5. Establishing policies to ensure fair treatment of employees.
  4. Supporting and advocating for the College.
