Policy 27-00 Emeritus Status

Policy

The District Governing Board (the Board) may award emeritus status to outgoing Presidents, retired full-time faculty, administrators (at the Dean level and above), and District Governing Board Members for distinguished service to engage them in the College in other ways (i.e. projects, initiatives, Presidential coverage, College advocacy, etc.).

This status may be granted to eligible individuals that:

  1. Served as a full-time employee of Coconino Community College or member of the Board.
  2. Established a record of distinguished service and/or other forms of professional achievement.
  3. Are properly nominated as follows:
    1. Faculty/administrator: Nominated by member(s) of his/her department/unit or immediate supervisor.
    2. President: Nominated by member(s) of the Board.
    3. District Governing Board Member: Nominated by President or other member(s) of the Board.
  4. Are in good standing with the college

All persons designated as having emeritus status may be accorded the following privileges or combination of privileges:

  1. A letter and plaque denoting emeritus status.
  2. Listing in appropriate directories.
  3. Consideration of requests to use College facilities and resources for the pursuit of scholarship and research interests.
  4. Receipt of select campus publications upon request.
  5. Inclusion in select College ceremonies and events.
  6. Use of a College email address.
  7. Eligibility to purchase an employee parking permit.
